Nook Tablet – performance eBook Reader or entry-level tablet?



Barnes & Noble launched Nook Tablet, the ultimate successor of Nook Color tablet. In turn, Nook Tablet is a product promoted rather as a powerful eReader and not necessarily as a tablet.

Whatever the view of marketing, the Nook tablet has many interesting qualities, such as 7-inch screen with 1024×600 pixel resolution, based on a matrix with IPS technology and equipped with capacitive touch interface.

The hardware received an upgrade, the new tablet advantage of dual-core processor at 1 GHz with 1 GB RAM for running applications in optimal conditions.

The collection of media files and electronic books is accommodated in 16 GB internal memory; storage space can be expanded by attaching up to 32 GB micro SDHC memory card. Internet access is provided through Wi-Fi 802.11n.

Nook Tablet boasts with a generous range of up to 9 hours for video playback or 11.5 hours for reading electronic books. The operating system used is Android Gingerbread, comes with a comprehensive range of preinstalled applications.

If we speak about the level design, Nook Tablet presents a gray-looking rubber casing that fits with the screen in a frame wide enough, so we can keep sized tablet in your hands without image would obstruct visibility.
