HTC Titan – Titanic Display

HTC Titan is the newcomer in the range of smartphones of the company and has two main characteristics: is aimed for the pictures enthusiasts and is one of the first HTC’s that will use Windows Phone 7 Mango.

HTC Titan certainly deserves its name, if only because S-LCD display touchscreen with a huge diagonal of 4.7″, but it rely a relatively low resolution for such a size of 480 x 800 pixels. Most likely, this limitation was imposed by Microsoft that provides the operating system available on the phone Mango.

Such a display requires a power measurement and Titan uses Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with a single-core 1.5 GHz and an integrated graphics Adreno 205, with 512 MB of RAM and 16 GB internal memory.

Connectivity is guaranteed as you expect, the 3G speeds go up to 14.4 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth 2.1, microUSB, microHDMI and GPS.

Another attraction is the 8 MP camera with 28mm lens, dual LED flash, sensor lighting and video in HD 720p, plus a front camera for video calls of 1.3 MP and a microphone attenuation ambient noise.

Usefulness of a telephone with a large display is obviously questionable: it has only 160 grams and it feels really good in the pocket, but HTC has managed to limit the length to 13 cm, Titan is only with 1.5 cm longer than the iPhone 4.

Perhaps, however, that how they sell phones like HTC Titan and Samsung Notes will decide the future of this mini-market.
