Toshiba AT200 – an ultra-slim tablet with a spectacular design
Toshiba has announced the official launch of the new AT200 tablet market, considered by some voices as a serious competitor for iPad 2 and Samsung Galaxy Tab.
The new tablet had impressed by its size, being in the opposite of another model tablet of the same manufacturer, Toshiba Thrive. In this sense, if we make a comparison with Apple’s or Samsung competitors, AT200 is around 15% thinner, with 7.7 mm thick and 40 grams lighter, weighing only 560 grams.
The upcoming dimensions make a pretty good impression and put AT200 on the first place among the 10-inch tablets, on chapter sizes.
In terms of the tablet design, it seems that in this chapter Toshiba made a pretty good job. The case is from metal, aluminum, which gives the tablet a modern look.
Toshiba AT200 comes with a standard 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800. The same type of display is fitted on Toshiba Thrive model, but we can safely say that in this chapter, the tablet has a disadvantage against the iPad 2, Galaxy Tab or Asus Transformer.
For those interested on this model you will see some of the specifications that come with this device. First to mention is the TI OMAP 4430 dual-core processor, operating at a frequency of 1.2 GHz.
On this type of processor, something that attracts attention is that it managed to behave better than Tegra 2, at some graphics tests and can play HD content.
The operating system is, as we expected, Android 3.2 Honeycomb. Other requirements include: two cameras of 5 and 1.3 megapixels, 1 GB RAM, microUSB ports, HDMI and a battery life up to 8 hours.
